Gaining widespread fame as one of the most acclaimed college football players of all time, Herschel Walker led the University of Georgia to victory with a two-time All-American career and winning Heisman Trophy in 1982. Walker finished his years as a football player, setting his sights on an exciting new profession in the world of professional mixed martial arts (MMA). He soon found himself fighting in the renowned Strikeforce and World Extreme Cagefighting tournaments, making him the only individual with match experience in both the NFL and MMA.
Walker commenced his Mixed Martial Arts ventures with a bang, besting Scott Carson via technical knockout during the opening round. He followed up by consecutively snagging two decisions – against Sam Morgan and Pedro Rizzo – solidifying his presence in the ring.

At Sengoku Raiden Championships 13, Walker squared off against veteran MMA fighter Matt Lindland, unfortunately not managing to get the better of him. In the first round, Lindland secured the TKO victory.
Walker recently had a bout of MMA with Alistair Overeem, the former Strikeforce Heavyweight Champion, which he failed to win at Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum, losing to TKO in the opening round.

Walker hails from the small town of Wrightsville, Georgia, where he first took up football during his tenure at Johnson County High School.
At the University of Georgia, Herschel Walker dazzled fans from 1980 to 1982. In 1981, he made history as a key contributor on the Bulldogs team that achieved a National Championship. The following year, Walker cemented himself in history books after becoming the first junior ever to scoop the Heisman Trophy.
Walker decided to depart his college studies prematurely, and instead take the courageous step of joining the New Jersey Generals within the United States Football League (USFL). Then, from 1983-1985, he played for the Generals continuously over a period of three years.
In 1986, Walker became a member of the illustrious Dallas Cowboys, one of the most renowned teams in the National Football League. He proudly played for the Cowboys for four years, from 1986 to 1989.
Walker’s NFL career shifted to Minnesota in 1990 as he was traded to the Vikings. For the subsequent three years he donned the purple and gold, playing with integrity during his tenure.
After an absence of a few years, Emmitt Walker came back to the Dallas Cowboys in 1993 and stayed with the team for two successive seasons, till 1994.
In 1995, Walker had the opportunity to join the Philadelphia Eagles, and he did – for the full 1995 season.
In 1996, Walker became a part of the New York Giants. His tenure with the team lasted for two years, from ’96 to ’97.
Walker’s 1998season saw him joining the mighty Carolina Panthers, for whom he took to the field from 1998 to 1999.
Walker’s football journey launched in 2000 when he elected to don the Atlanta Falcons jersey. His run with them extended from 2000 to 2001, comprising of two successful seasons.
In 2002, Walker stepped onto the scene with the San Diego Chargers. He was only a part of the team for a single season, where he left an impact in 2002.
In 2003, Walker accepted an offer from the New Orleans Saints – a single season of NFL football.
Following nearly two decades in the NFL, Walker decided in 2004 to hang up his cleats and enter retirement.
After a hiatus from the game of football, Walker returned in 2008, enlisting with the Omaha Nighthawks – a team in the United Football League (UFL). His return concluded with a single season before his time with them was done.
In 2009, Walker pledged his allegiance to the venerable Bill Walsh Global Football League (WGFL). Representing the Connecticut Hurricanes of the WGFL, he made memorable impacts and contributions to the team over his one-season tenure.
Walker’s football career began its surge in 2010 when he signed with the Florida Tuskers of the UFL. His time with the Tuskers proved to be a short-lived stint, however; Walker’s single season with the team came and went that year.
During the year 2011, Walker became part of the Las Vegas Locomotives team in the UFL. This one-year tenure concluded at the conclusion of that year.
In 2012, Walker- a professional football player – teamed up with the San Antonio Talons of the AFL (Arena Football League). Joining forces with the Talons was a short-term venture, where he remained for one solitary season.
In 2013, Walker donned the Sacramento Mountain Lions’ jersey for a stint with the United Football League (UFL). His tenure with the team was short-lived – lasting only a single season.
In 2014, Walker officially became part of the Dallas Cowboys family as a key contributor to their scouting division.
In 2016, Walker officially became a part of the Atlanta Falcons family, joining the club as their player personnel coordinator.
Walker holds two distinct titles: that of a successful NFL athlete and an MMA fighter. His unparalleled accomplishment is the award of a Heisman Trophy – football’s highest accolade – paired with a victorious bout in MMA.
